A little about me: I’ve loved songs for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a Lebanese family, I was surrounded by music, stories, and melodies that travelled across generations. Inspired in part by my aunt, Lebanese music trailblazer Suad Hashem, I learned early on that a song can transport us to another place, awaken forgotten memories, and help us feel less alone. To me, music is one of humanity’s most powerful ways of connecting with one another.

Troll Behind Your Screen started with a simple thought.

We’ve all had those moments online where a troll thinks a comment, a message, or a post is going to ruin our day. This song is my response.

There is a lot of noise, negativity, and hate online. Sometimes it feels like that’s all there is.

Instead of giving trolls the attention they’re looking for, I’d rather remind myself—and hopefully anyone listening—that nobody gets to take our light away.

The music visualizer takes you into that overwhelming digital world, and then finds the hope we need.

This song, written and performed by artist Elana Harte and myself, is the song the world needs to hear right now. A song about love, humanity, sharing the world, welcoming the stranger into our hearts and homes. ABOUT the ALBUM

I made this record to lift our collective energy. From the opening invitation of Make You Feel Good to the gratitude and wonder of Love Letter to Life and This Wonderful World, these songs are about finding light in ourselves and each other. Along the way, we celebrate connection in We Are Dancing Together, resilience in Never Giving Up, and the belief that we are all Soldiers of Love.

Then the journey brings us to the Arabic/English call-and-response of Tell the Stranger (Oloo Lel Gharaeeb), a song about welcoming one another home. I close the story with One Life to Live, a reminder to embrace the time we have and make it meaningful. If you’ve been to one of my shows, you’ll recognize the same heartbeat throughout this album: joy, love, hope, and our shared humanity.

For those who wish to follow the journey one step further, my interpretation of My Way serves as the album’s epilogue. It’s a fitting final reflection on identity, resilience, and choosing your own path, and is available exclusively on Bandcamp.

I’ve always loved this song. It holds special romantic memories for me from years ago, when I first heard it while slow dancing in a living room with someone I loved.

For this release, I wanted to explore two different sides of the story. Dusk Dance captures the feeling of dancing with a lover on a beach as the sun sets and the sky changes colour around you. Midnight Heat takes the song somewhere else entirely — a late-night dance floor, dim lights, lingering glances, and the electricity of being lost in the music with someone special.

Written during the COVID-19 pandemic, I Miss You Mom (Emi Ana Meshtaalek) began as a reflection on the simple act of missing a hug from our mothers at a time when families around the world were forced apart. Featuring a heartfelt guest rap from Count Klassy, the song grew into a celebration of the love, comfort, and strength that mothers bring to our lives. For me, it was also deeply personal—my own mother always felt especially touched knowing this song was written for her.
